Two Killed, Two Injured in Apparent Gun Deal Turned Robbery in Round Rock
ROUND ROCK, TX — On Saturday, July 12, 2025, at approximately 1:00 p.m., officers responded to a shooting at the Bellwood Apartments located at 1401 S A.W. Grimes Blvd.
Preliminary findings indicate that the incident stemmed from a robbery during a meeting between two groups for the sale of a firearm. During the transaction, gunfire broke out, resulting in four individuals being shot.
Two victims were transported to area hospitals for treatment. The other two victims were pronounced dead at the scene. They have been identified as:
- Brian Kinney, 17, of Austin
- Samuel Mason, 18, of Pflugerville
The investigation is ongoing. Detectives are working to determine the roles of all individuals involved in the incident.
