Man Arrested after Threatening to Shoot Up Elementary School in The Woodlands

On Tuesday, July 1, 2025, at approximately 2:45 p.m., Montgomery County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a 911 call involving threats made against Deretchin Elementary, located in the 11000 block of Merit Oaks Drive in The Woodlands, TX.
The caller reportedly threatened to “shoot up” the school if law enforcement did not respond. Deputies arrived quickly and located a 21-year-old male on school property who was actively self-harming and in possession of weapons.
Deputies used less-lethal measures to subdue the suspect and safely take him into custody. He was found to have a knife and a realistic airsoft pistol in his possession. The individual was transported to a local hospital for a mental health evaluation and is facing a 3rd degree felony charge for possession of a weapon in a prohibited place.
