Fatal Shooting Under Investigation in Houston Greater Uptown Parking Garage

Houston police are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred in a parking garage at 5000 West Alabama Street in the Greater Uptown area around 5 p.m. on Tuesday, June 3. A 30-year-old man was found shot multiple times and later died at the hospital. His identity is being withheld pending family notification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

According to HPD Homicide Division Sergeant W. Dunn and Detective L. Brooks, officers responded to the shooting report and located the wounded male. Houston Fire Department paramedics transported the victim to Ben Taub General Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased at 10:55 p.m.

During the initial response, officers observed a black Chrysler 300 with shattered windows, indicative of gunfire, fleeing the scene. The vehicle was located nearby, and three males were detained and questioned by investigators. However, all three individuals were subsequently released.

The Houston Police Department’s investigation into the fatal shooting is ongoing.
