A multi-agency narcotics operation resulted in the seizure of 625 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine from a Houston stash house, dealing a significant blow to a Mexican Drug Trafficking Organization (DTO) operating in the area.

On Thursday, February 6, 2025, members of the Westside Narcotics Task Force (HIDTA) conducted an operation following weeks of investigation into a methamphetamine supply network. Task Force officers identified a stash house used to distribute multi-kilogram quantities of methamphetamine.

With assistance from Texas DPS, the DEA, and the Harris County Precinct 3 Constable’s Office, officers arrested 27-year-old Miguel Angel Chavez-Cerrtino and seized the large drug cache. Chavez-Cerrtino has been charged with Possession with Intent to Distribute crystal methamphetamine by the United States Attorney’s Office.

The Westside Narcotics Task Force covers five counties and includes investigators from the Austin County Sheriff’s Office, Bellville PD, Sealy PD, Hempstead PD, Waller County Sheriff’s Office, Fayette County Sheriff’s Office, Colorado County Sheriff’s Office, Lavaca County Sheriff’s Office, and the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration.
