19-Year-Old Charged in Fatal Convenience Store Shooting of Teen in Northwest Houston

HOUSTON, TX — Charges have been filed against 19-year-old Cameron Ray in connection to the fatal shooting of 16-year-old Davion Elzy at a convenience store parking lot located at 13360 Northborough Drive on May 11.

Houston police responded to reports of a shooting around 3:35 p.m. Officers found Elzy suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was transported to HCA Houston Healthcare Northwest, where he was pronounced deceased.

Ray, who remains at large, was charged with murder in the 496th State District Court after a thorough investigation and consultation with the Harris County District Attorney’s Office.
