17-Year-Old Arrested in Drive-By Shooting Incident in Katy

On Tuesday, February 4, 2025, Harris County District 4 units responded to a drive-by shooting in the 5700 block of Coyote Call Ct, Katy. Authorities were alerted to a suspect vehicle attempting to flee the area, and patrol units conducted a felony stop. During the stop, three suspects fled on foot, with one being apprehended after a brief foot pursuit. The suspect was identified as 17-year-old Bryce August.

Upon returning to the scene, authorities discovered that two residences in the 5700 block had been struck by gunfire. Detectives responded and reviewed surveillance footage, which captured the shooting incident. The detained suspect was transported to the Clay Road substation, where he provided a full confession, claiming the shooting was in retaliation for a prior fight and ongoing issues at school.

The 17-year-old was charged with deadly conduct and booked into the Harris County Jail. School officials were notified of the ongoing conflict between students.
