15-Year-Old in Critical Condition After Accidental Shooting in Central Texas

MANOR, Texas – A 15-year-old boy is in critical condition after suffering a gunshot wound to the head early Friday morning in Manor, police said.
Officers with the Manor Police Department responded at approximately 3:30 a.m. February 13, 2026, to the 19800 block of Grover Cleveland Way. Upon arrival, officers located the juvenile with a gunshot wound and began providing lifesaving measures.
Preliminary investigation indicates the injury occurred during an alleged accidental discharge of a firearm by a family member. The teen was transported to Dell Seton Trauma Center, where he remains in critical condition.
The investigation remains ongoing.
Police said the incident underscores the importance of firearm safety and proper storage. The Manor Police Department is offering free gun locks to the public.
Officials also recognized responding officers and their partners with Austin-Travis County Emergency Medical Services and Travis County Emergency Services District 12 for their efforts at the scene.
