15-Year-Old Employee Arrested After Fatal Shooting of Co-Workers in Clute

On Monday, July 7, 2025, at approximately 1:18 p.m., officers with the Clute Police Department responded to a report of shots fired in the 200 block of Dixie Drive. Upon arrival, officers located three individuals suffering from gunshot wounds.
According to witnesses, the shooting occurred during the lunch break of a five-person landscaping crew. A 15-year-old Hispanic male employee from Houston allegedly pulled out a handgun and began firing at his co-workers. Three adult male employees were struck by the gunfire. A fourth employee fled on foot while the suspect chased him, continuing to shoot. The fourth man was not hit and was able to escape.
At 1:29 p.m., the suspect, who matched the description provided by witnesses, was located and taken into custody in the 700 block of Plantation Drive. Police reported the juvenile appeared to be experiencing a medical episode and was transported to CHI St. Luke’s in Lake Jackson. After being released, he was transferred to the Brazoria County Juvenile Detention Center.
One victim, a Hispanic male from Houston, was pronounced deceased at the scene. A second victim died after being transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital. A third victim remains hospitalized and is expected to survive. All three victims were adult Hispanic males; their exact ages have not been released.
The juvenile suspect is facing multiple felony charges. All individuals involved were employees of a Houston-based landscaping company and had no known ties to Clute or Brazoria County.
The Clute Police Department credited multiple agencies for their assistance in the response and investigation, including the Brazoria County Sheriff’s Department, Lake Jackson Police Department, Texas Rangers, U.S. Marshal’s Office, and other local law enforcement and emergency response units
