Austin Police Seek Public’s Help Identifying Suspect in Assault on Elderly Woman

The Austin Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division is requesting the public’s assistance in identifying a male suspect who assaulted an elderly woman on a city bus.

On Sunday, February 9, 2025, at approximately 9:23 a.m., a verbal disturbance between a man and an elderly woman escalated into an assault on a bus in the 7700 block of Burnet Road. A bystander intervened and physically restrained the suspect before he assaulted her as well.

The suspect is described as:

  • Black male
  • Early 30s
  • Thin build
  • Short black hair
  • Patchy beard
