Teen Arrested After Fleeing Deputies Twice in Harris County
Tommie Collins

A 17-year-old suspect with outstanding warrants was arrested Tuesday after twice fleeing from Harris County Precinct 8 Deputies, first at a business on El Dorado Blvd and later at an apartment complex in Webster.

On February 11, 2025, deputies received a tip about a suspicious male possibly selling narcotics inside a business in the 400 block of El Dorado Blvd. Deputies Rabago and Cartlidge arrived and made contact with the suspect, who provided a false name and date of birth before escaping on foot into a nearby apartment complex. A bag left behind by the suspect was found to contain approximately 3 ounces of marijuana.

The suspect was later identified as Tommie Collins, 17, who had two outstanding warrants for Evading Arrest and Assaulting a Family Member. The Harris County District Attorney’s Office accepted an additional charge of Evading Arrest but declined charges for Possession of Marijuana and Failure to ID/Fugitive.

On February 12, 2025, deputies from the Precinct 8 Criminal Investigations Division and Street Crimes Unit conducted surveillance and located Collins in the 18800 block of Town Ridge Dr. in Webster. He attempted to flee again, prompting deputies to establish a perimeter. Collins was found hiding inside an apartment and surrendered without further incident.

He was booked into the Harris County Joint Processing Center, with an additional charge of Evading Arrest for the second incident.
