16-year-old Robbery Suspect Fatally Shot in Houston; Case to Be Reviewed by Grand Jury

A 16-year-old male suspect was fatally shot during a robbery attempt at a business located at 1570 South Dairy Ashford Road at approximately 5:10 a.m. on Monday, January 20. The incident will be referred to a Harris County grand jury for review.

Houston Police Department (HPD) Homicide Division Sergeants M. Burrow and R. Watson reported that officers responded to the scene after receiving a call about the shooting. Upon arrival, they found a male with apparent gunshot wounds. Paramedics declared him dead at the scene.

Investigators believe the deceased, along with another male, attempted to rob the business, leading to a shootout with employees. One suspect was shot and died at the scene, while the other fled on foot. Fortunately, no employees were injured during the incident.

The identity of the deceased suspect is still pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
