Hit-and-Run Crash Leaves Woman Dead in South Houston; Suspect Sought

Houston police are investigating a fatal hit-and-run crash that occurred on Tuesday, December 3, at approximately 9:15 p.m. at the intersection of Mallow Street and Scott Street in South Houston.

The victim, a female whose identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences, was in the crosswalk when she was struck by a white Ford pickup truck traveling southbound on Scott Street. The driver of the truck, who was turning left onto Mallow Street, did not stop to render aid and fled the scene.

Houston Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and transported the woman to Memorial Hermann-Texas Medical Center, where she was later pronounced deceased.
