Kendrick Rayvon Fisher

Houston police have arrested Kendrick Rayvon Fisher, 29, in connection with the fatal stabbing of a woman and a child at an apartment on Richmond Avenue. Fisher has been charged with capital murder in the 209th State District Court.

At approximately 3:10 a.m. on Friday, November 29, officers were flagged down by a citizen who reported that an adult female and a child were being held hostage inside an apartment at 12360 Richmond Avenue. The citizen expressed concern for their safety, stating a male suspect, later identified as Fisher, was inside.

When officers arrived, they found Fisher asleep on the couch. A safety sweep of the apartment revealed the two victims, a 28-year-old woman and a 2-year-old child, both of whom had suffered multiple stab wounds. Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced them dead at the scene.

Upon detaining Fisher, officers noted injuries consistent with a physical altercation and blood on his clothing. He was questioned by Houston Police Department homicide detectives and, after consulting with the Harris County District Attorney’s Office, was charged with capital murder. Fisher has been booked into the Harris County Jail.

The identities of the victims are pending notification to their family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
