Officer Shoots Suspect After Altercation Outside Cy-Fair ISD Windfern Building in North Houston

Harris County Sheriff’s Office Homicide Investigators are looking into an officer-involved shooting that took place outside the Cy-Fair ISD Windfern Annex in North Houston on Sunday. The incident occurred in the parking lot near the intersection of Windfern Rd and Perry Rd.

Preliminary details indicate that a Cy-Fair ISD Police Officer observed a disturbance and attempted to intervene. While investigating the situation, the officer witnessed a vehicle lose control and crash in the parking lot. Upon approaching the scene, the officer was attacked by the driver, leading to a physical altercation between the two. A second vehicle also stopped at the location and became involved in the conflict.

During the altercation, the officer discharged his weapon, striking the male suspect. The suspect was transported to a nearby hospital in serious condition. An additional Harris County Sheriff’s Office deputy, who had arrived to assist, sustained minor injuries and was also taken to the hospital.

The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
