Brownsville Police Apprehend Suspects in Connection with Multiple Burglaries

Brownsville Police Department Burglary Task Force Investigators apprehended Henry Naranjo Jr (19), Gaston Guzman (43), and Marivel Guerrero (43) in connection to the burglary of habitations that occurred on August 29, 2023.

On August 29, 2023, Brownsville Police Patrol Officers responded to the 1000 block of Silver Oak Dr. in regards to a burglary of a habitation.

The victim stated that his garage door had been forced open and damaged. The victim added that he had surveillance footage of the incident and observed two male subjects entering and exiting his garage, without his consent, with stolen property (beers and frozen chicken).

As our patrol officers were documenting this incident, another burglary of habitation call was dispatched at the 4900 block of Ruidoso Place. The victim at Ruidoso Place stated that her residence had been broken into and ransacked. The victim stated the suspects took several electronics as well as some designer purses. The victim provided video surveillance that matched the vehicle and suspect description to the burglary at Silver Oak.

Our Burglary Task Force Investigators conducted a swift and complete investigation on these burglaries and secured warrants for Naranjo, Guzman, and Guerrero.

On September 1, 2023, Burglary Task Force Investigators coordinated with deputies from the Cameron County Sheriff’s Office and arrested Guzman and Guerrero in Los Fresnos, TX. Guzman and Guerrero were individually charged with Burglary of Habitation (2 Counts) and Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity (2 Counts). Guzman and Guerrero were arraigned on September 2, 2023, and issued a $230,000 bond each.

On September 5, 2023, Naranjo Jr. was arrested under the strength of his warrant in Harlingen, TX, and charged with Burglary of Habitation (2 Counts) and Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity (2 Counts). Naranjo Jr. was arraigned on September 6, 2023, and issued a $300,000 bond.

The stolen property from Ruidoso Place was retrieved and returned to the victim. Unfortunately, the beers and chicken did not return to their owner.
