Woman Dies in Single-Vehicle Crash on NASA Parkway

On November 6, 2024, at approximately 2:25 AM, Deputies from Constable Phil Sandlin’s Office were dispatched to a major traffic accident in the 2300 block of NASA Parkway in Houston. Upon arrival, they found a silver Hyundai 2-door vehicle had left the roadway and struck a tree in the westbound lanes.

The vehicle was occupied by a 39-year-old female driver from Hitchcock, who was the sole occupant. Deputies immediately began efforts to extract her from the wreckage and performed CPR on the unresponsive woman until Nassau Bay EMS arrived on the scene. Despite the life-saving efforts, the woman was transported to HCA Clear Lake Hospital, where she was pronounced deceased at approximately 3:00 AM.

There were no other passengers in the Hyundai, and no other vehicles were involved in the crash. The westbound lanes of NASA Parkway were shut down for several hours as Precinct 8 crash investigators processed the scene. The lanes were cleared and reopened shortly after 6:00 AM.

The investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing.
