Mother Sentenced to 50 Years for Death of Malnourished Toddler
Tina Louise Louis will be spending her birthday today and the years ahead in prison, following her sentencing for the 2022 death of her son, King Dewey. Louis was sentenced to 50 years for each of two counts of Injury to a Child in Judge Raquel West’s court yesterday.
Her daughter, Kirsten Louis, previously pled guilty and received a 30-year sentence, while Kirsten’s boyfriend, Jaylin Jevon Lewis, was sentenced to 60 years in August for the same charges.
On May 31, 2022, officers were dispatched to a residence in the 300 block of Richmond Avenue, where they found King Dewey, an extremely malnourished toddler, deceased.
The investigation was led by a team of dedicated officers, including Officer B. Tran, Officer T. Engle, retired Officer M. Sterling, Detective B. Cater, lead Detective I. Jaquez, and Detective K. Jolivette-Thomas. Their detailed work in collecting evidence and conducting interviews was key to securing the convictions.
Authorities hope these sentences bring some closure to Baby King’s family.
