Port Arthur Man Sentenced to 25 Years for Sexually Assaulting Mentally Disabled Woman

On Tuesday, September 25, 2024, Michael Lartigue, a 51-year-old Port Arthur resident pled to 25 years after a jury found him guilty of an Aggravated Sexual Assault that occurred in 2022.

At knife point, Lartigue forced a 27-year-old mentally disabled female victim to perform oral sex on him, threatening to kill her if she refused.

Responding officers gathered a physical description from the victim and quickly located the suspect nearby at a convenience store. The weapon was also located in a trash can where the suspect discarded it.

“We want to commend Officers Medina, Jackson and Sanchez as well as lead investigator Det. Jaquez and Det. T. Cater for a job very well done. Justice has been served!”, said the Port Arthur Police Department in a statement.
