Man Arrested for Murder in Fort Bend Houston Area 2023 Fatal Shooting

Ricky Lee Garcia, 34, has been arrested and charged with murder in connection with the fatal shooting of Tracy Delano Richardson, Jr., 30, at 15815 Boonridge Road in Houston around 12:10 a.m. on July 26, 2023. Garcia is charged in the 268th State District Court in Fort Bend County.

According to HPD Homicide Division Sergeant A. Dudley and Detective A. Hernandez, officers responded to an assault in-progress call outside the residence and found Richardson lying on the driveway with a gunshot wound. Houston Fire Department paramedics arrived and pronounced Richardson deceased.

Initially, there was no suspect description or motive available. On July 26, surveillance photos of a vehicle, believed to be a gray Chevrolet Impala or similar model, were released to the public.

Further investigation identified Garcia as the suspect. He was arrested on Saturday, August 31, by the HPD Southwest Patrol Division Crime Suppression Team following a family disturbance at a different location.
