Houston Woman Arrested in Stabbing Death of Teen During a Robbery Near the Galleria

An arrest has been made in the stabbing death of 17-year-old Kayla Stevenson. 37-year-old Kaysone Sky Blossom has been arrested and charged with capital murder. The crime occurred on December 9, 2023 at about 11:10 am at 5100 West Alabama Street near the Galleria in Houston.
At the time, officers discovered Ms. Stevenson on a sidewalk, unresponsive and afflicted with stab wounds. She was pronounced deceased at the scene. Detectives determined that the young victim had been walking to work when she was robbed and brutally stabbed.
Witnesses provided crucial information describing the suspect as an Asian female, aged 25 to 35, clad in black attire, and riding a blue “cruiser style” bicycle. Following investigations and community tips, law enforcement identified Blossom as the alleged perpetrator.
The Houston Police Department’s SWAT team arrested Blossom without incident on December 13 at her residence in the 10200 block of Beechnut Street. Subsequently, she has been charged with capital murder and booked into the Harris County Jail.
