Houston Police Arrest Suspect in Mallow Street Shooting
Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the shooting of three men at 5017 Mallow Street about 10 p.m. on Wednesday (May 10).
The suspect, Justin Dion Reed, 27, is charged with three counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in the 208th State District Court and assault of a family member in Harris County Criminal Court #8. Reed’s booking photo is attached to this news release.
The victims, 17, 24 and 55, suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
HPD Major Assaults and Family Violence Division Detectives V. Habukiha and J. Windham reported:
HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting call in an apartment complex parking lot at the above address and found three male victims suffering from gunshot wounds. Houston Fire Department paramedics transported them to a local hospital in stable condition.
Investigators learned Reed was involved in a physical altercation with a woman and he opened fire when the victims tried to intervene. The female, 29, suffered minor injuries and was treated at the scene.
Reed was later arrested and subsequently charged for his role in the shooting.
