Brownsville Police Raid Results in Four Arrests for Drug-Related Offenses

In a targeted operation on December 6, 2023, the Brownsville Police Department Special Investigations Narcotics Unit executed a search warrant at a residence situated on the 2500 block of E. 13th Street. The operation, part of an ongoing investigation, revealed the residence’s alleged involvement in the illegal narcotics trade.

Following the raid, Jim Edward Dorsett (50), Rogelio Amaya (42), Juan Carlos Montelongo (37), and Alejandra Castillo (34) were apprehended and taken into custody. The charges against them include “Manufacture/Delivery of Controlled Substance PG 1/1-B >=4G<200G (Crack Cocaine),” classified as a 1st Degree Felony, and “Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity,” also a 1st Degree Felony.

The four suspects were arraigned on December 7, 2023, with Dorsett and Amaya each receiving a $150,000 bond. Montelongo’s bond was set at $200,000, while Castillo’s bond was set at $100,000.
