Bodies Found in Northeast Bexar County Home Linked to Austin Shootings; Suspect Arrested
On Tuesday night, the bodies of two individuals were discovered in a residence located in the 6000 block of Port Royal in the Mission Hill community near Kirby, northeast Bexar County. The victims were identified as 56-year-old Shane M. James and 55-year-old Phyllis James.
Law enforcement authorities in Austin reached out to the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office, informing them that a suspect in three shootings in Austin, including one that left an Austin ISD police officer injured, had ties to the aforementioned residence. The suspect, identified as 34-year-old Shane James, was apprehended in Austin.
Sheriff Salazar confirmed that the killings at the Port Royal residence occurred prior to the shootings in Austin.
Shane James has been booked into the Travis County Jail on capital murder charges. While it is believed that the victims are family members of the suspect, detectives have yet to confirm this information.
