Governor Abbott Announces 2023 Governor’s Small Business Summit Honoring Women Entrepreneurs in Houston

Governor Greg Abbott has announced that the next 2023 Governor’s Small Business Summit, focusing on honoring women small business owners, will take place in Houston on Thursday, December 7. These summits are designed to support Texas small business owners and aspiring entrepreneurs by connecting them with essential resources and information to start, strengthen, and grow their businesses.

Governor Abbott highlighted that women business owners in Texas have the same opportunities as all entrepreneurs, emphasizing increased access to capital, reduced barriers to entry, and greater freedom for growth. Texas, as a state, is recognized for offering numerous growth opportunities, boasting 1.25 million women business owners, and Houston leading the nation in small business job growth.

The Governor’s Small Business Summit in Houston aims to provide women small business owners and entrepreneurs with valuable insights into critical business topics. Attendees will have the opportunity to network with fellow women business owners and meet experts who can provide timely, relevant, and actionable advice on a range of small business topics. The event is co-hosted by the Governor’s Commission for Women, the Greater Houston Women’s Chamber of Commerce, and the Texas Workforce Commission.
