Chambers County Deputies Respond to a Deceased Person Call in Cove, Suspect Arrested for Manslaughter

At approximately 10:00 a.m. on November 26, 2023, Chambers County Sheriff’s Office Deputies responded to a call in the 4400 block of Wood Duck Lane in Cove regarding a deceased person. Upon arrival, deputies suspected foul play, prompting the involvement of Sheriff’s Office Detectives.

Following an initial investigation, detectives determined that the suspect, identified as Devin Stanley, had allegedly shot and killed an individual. Interviews with the suspect and witnesses revealed that the incident was the result of reckless actions.

Devin Stanley was subsequently arrested for Manslaughter and has been booked into the Chambers County Jail without incident. The victim’s body has been sent for an autopsy, as ordered by Chambers County Justice of the Peace Pct #6, Larry Cryer.

The case remains active, with the possibility of upgraded charges pending further investigation.
