Motorcyclist Killed After Crashing Into Car on Main Street in Central Southwest Houston

HOUSTON, Texas. A 61-year-old motorcyclist was killed Sunday afternoon after losing control of his motorcycle and crashing on Main Street in southwest Houston, according to the Houston Police Department.

The fatal crash occurred at approximately 4:30 p.m. on Aug. 2 in the 14000 block of Main Street in the Central Southwest Houston area.

The Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences identified the victim as 61-year-old Tyron Roberson.

According to investigators with the Houston Police Department Vehicular Crimes Division, Roberson was riding a red Harley-Davidson motorcycle southbound on Main Street when he made an abrupt lane change and struck the rear bumper of a maroon Dodge Charger.

After the initial impact, Roberson lost control of the motorcycle, struck a curb and laid the bike down in a grassy area along the feeder road.

Houston Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and pronounced Roberson dead.

Police said the driver of the Dodge Charger remained at the scene, showed no signs of intoxication and cooperated with investigators before being released.

No other people were injured, and no other vehicles were involved in the crash.

The Houston Police Department Vehicular Crimes Division continues to investigate the incident.
