Man Charged With Murder After Worker Found Dead in Spring Home

SPRING, Texas — A 19-year-old man has been charged with murder after a worker was found dead inside a home under renovation in Spring, according to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.
Homicide detectives were called around 11:30 a.m. on April 12, 2026, to a residence in the 23000 block of Goldensong Court after a woman reported finding her brother deceased at a home where he had been working.
Deputies with the Harris County Precinct 4 Constable’s Office responded first and confirmed the man’s death at the scene. Family members told deputies they had not heard from him since Friday afternoon and noted his truck was missing.
When investigators arrived, they found the two-story home heavily damaged from a previous fire and undergoing major renovations. The victim, identified as 47-year-old Juan Salinas, was located inside with severe trauma to his upper body and head. Authorities said the injuries were caused by an unknown weapon.
Detectives learned Salinas had been working at the home with another individual, though his identity was initially unknown.
During the investigation, Salinas’ missing vehicle was located in the Pasadena area with four occupants inside. All four were taken to the sheriff’s office for questioning. A woman and two juveniles were later released, while an adult male remained for further investigation.
Authorities later identified that individual as 19-year-old Josue Chirino, who had been working with Salinas at the home. Following interviews, scene processing, and review of surveillance footage, Chirino was charged with murder.
Chirino was arrested with assistance from the Pasadena Police Department and the sheriff’s office Violent Criminal Apprehension Team and booked into the Harris County Jail.
