152-Year Prison Term for Sweetwater Predator for Continuous Abuse of Children

TAYLOR COUNTY, TX — A 43-year-old Sweetwater man, David Saenz-Quintana, will spend the rest of his life in prison after being sentenced to 152 years in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ). The sentence follows a multi-agency investigation into a horrific series of crimes against children that culminated in a February 2026 guilty verdict.
Saenz-Quintana was arrested on May 1, 2025, and has remained in custody throughout the legal proceedings. The Taylor County Sheriff’s Office (TCSO) Criminal Investigative Division led the probe, which uncovered a vast pattern of abuse and exploitation.
A Litany of Crimes
The jury found Saenz-Quintana guilty on a wide range of felony charges, reflecting the severity and variety of his predatory behavior:
- Continuous Sexual Abuse of a Child: Victim Under 14
- Promote Prostitution of a Person Under 18
- 3 Counts: Indecency with a Child (Sexual Contact)
- 2 Counts: Indecency with a Child (Exposure)
- Online Solicitation of a Minor (Sexual Conduct)
- Sexual Performance by a Child: Produce/Direct/Promote Visual Material
Trial Testimony and Defenses
During the trial, the prosecution presented a powerful case that included testimony from the defendant’s own children, who spoke out against their father’s actions.
Saenz-Quintana took the stand in his own defense, attempting to minimize the extent of the abuse. Despite the mountain of evidence against him, he reportedly testified that the incidents only occurred “two times.” The jury rejected this characterization, returning a guilty verdict on all counts.
Interagency Cooperation
The Taylor County Sheriff’s Office expressed deep gratitude to the multiple agencies that partnered to secure the conviction and protect the children of West Texas. These included:
- Nolan County District Attorney’s Office
- Sweetwater Police Department
- Nolan County Sheriff’s Office
- Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI)
The 152-year sentence effectively ensures that Saenz-Quintana will never again have the opportunity to prey on the community’s children.
