Suspect Arrested In Deadly Shooting Of Man On Bauman Road In Northside Houston

HOUSTON, Texas – Houston police have arrested a suspect in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred earlier this month.

According to investigators, 18-year-old Ignacio Lopez has been charged with murder in the death of 23-year-old Eliseo Murillo.

The shooting happened around 11:15 a.m. on March 15, 2026, in the 10500 block of Bauman Road.

HPD patrol officers responded to the scene and found Murillo lying in the street with multiple gunshot wounds. Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene.

Investigators determined that Murillo was walking northbound on Bauman Road when a suspect exited a vehicle and opened fire, striking him multiple times before fleeing.

Through further investigation, detectives identified Lopez as the suspect.

He was taken into custody on March 18 and, after consultation with the Harris County District Attorney’s Office, was formally charged with murder.

Lopez has been booked into the Harris County Jail.
