Man Arrested After Threatening Stepfather With Knife During El Paso Domestic Argument

EL PASO, Texas – A man has been arrested following a domestic disturbance in El Paso that escalated into an aggravated assault involving a knife.
On Friday, March 13, 2026, around 3:30 p.m., officers with the El Paso Police Department responded to the 9500 block of Martinique Drive after receiving a report of an aggravated assault in progress.
Officers met with a 66-year-old male victim who said his step-son confronted him inside the home and threatened him with a kitchen knife. The suspect, identified as 38-year-old Rodolfo Marcelino Rodriguez, also sprayed the victim in the face with an air freshener during the incident.
The victim was able to flee the residence and call police for assistance.
Due to the situation, SWAT was called to the scene. Rodriguez initially remained inside the home but later exited and was taken into custody without further incident.
He was booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. His bond was set at $35,000.
