Two Teen Suspects Wanted in Shooting Incident in South Houston
Houston police are searching for two teenage suspects in connection with a shooting incident that occurred at an apartment complex located at 3000 Murworth Drive around 12 a.m. on Tuesday, October 10, 2023.
The suspects have been identified as 18-year-old Jervarius Taylor and 18-year-old Jaycob Lewis. Both individuals are facing charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and burglary with intent to commit a felony in the 263rd State District Court. Additionally, Taylor is charged with aggravated assault of a family member, while Lewis faces a second count of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
The incident unfolded when Houston Police officers responded to a call reporting a shooting at the above-mentioned address. Upon arrival, they discovered a 22-year-old male victim with gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to a local hospital by Houston Fire Department paramedics and is currently in stable condition.
According to the information gathered during the investigation, Taylor and Lewis allegedly forcibly entered an apartment by kicking in the front door. Inside the residence, they brandished a firearm and aimed it at three individuals present. Eyewitnesses at the scene reported that Taylor discharged the weapon, firing multiple shots that struck the victim more than once. Following the shooting, the suspects fled the scene in a vehicle.
