Harris County Constable Deputies Arrest Suspect After Foot Chase Near Hobby Airport

HOUSTON – Deputies with Harris County Constable Precinct 2 arrested a suspect following a foot pursuit near Hobby Airport on Sunday, February 1, 2026.
According to officials, day shift deputies initiated a subject stop in the 8200 block of Broadway Street after recognizing an individual they knew to have an active warrant. When deputies attempted to make contact, the suspect fled on foot, prompting deputies to request additional backup.
A foot chase followed through the area. During the pursuit, a Taser was deployed but did not make contact. Deputies eventually caught up with the suspect in a nearby parking lot, where the individual resisted arrest before being detained and taken into custody.
One deputy sustained minor cuts and scrapes to the hands, elbows, and shins during the struggle. Emergency medical personnel responded to the scene and evaluated both the deputy and the suspect. No serious injuries were reported.
The suspect was arrested and charged with Evading Arrest or Detention on Foot, as well as an open Harris County Sheriff’s Office warrant for Possession of a Controlled Substance. The suspect was transported to the Joint Processing Center for booking.
The incident remains under review as part of standard procedure.
