Man Arrested Assaulting Two Elderly Victims In Far North Houston

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas – Deputies with Constable Mark Herman’s Office arrested a man after responding to a disturbance call that led to the discovery of an alleged assault involving two elderly victims in a far North Houston neighborhood.

The incident occurred on January 24, 2026, in the 1300 block of Farhills Court near Kuykendahl Road in the Eagle Landing neighborhood. Deputies arrived on scene and made contact with a subject later identified as 43-year-old Amer Habbas.

During the investigation, deputies determined that two elderly individuals at the residence had been physically assaulted. A 78-year-old man and a 75-year-old woman told deputies that Habbas had attacked them. Deputies observed injuries on both victims that were consistent with their statements.

Habbas was taken into custody and booked into the Harris County Jail on a charge of injury to an elderly person. His bond was set at $8,000 out of the 174th District Court.

The investigation remains under review by Constable Mark Herman’s Office.
