Two Juveniles Arrested In New Year’s Eve Shooting At Round Rock Event Center

ROUND ROCK, Texas – The Round Rock Police Department has announced two additional arrests in connection with a shooting that occurred during a New Year’s Eve event at the Platinum Event Center in the 1600 block of Chisholm Trail Road.
The newly arrested suspects are both juveniles, one from Austin and one from Bastrop. Each has been charged with aggravated assault in connection with a mass shooting. Because of their ages, their identities are not being released.
These arrests follow the earlier arrest of 20-year-old Javione Wright of Pflugerville, who was taken into custody on January 6 and charged with aggravated assault—mass shooting, a first-degree felony. With the two juvenile arrests, a total of three suspects have now been charged in the case.
Investigators say the shooting occurred after a physical altercation broke out among partygoers during the New Year’s Eve event. During the disturbance, five juveniles were shot. All victims were transported to local hospitals and are expected to survive, as their injuries were determined to be non-life-threatening.
Round Rock Police credited assistance from the Austin Police Department Violent Crimes Task Force and the Bastrop ISD Police Department for their role in identifying and apprehending the suspects.
The investigation remains active, and authorities have indicated that additional information will be released as it becomes available.
