Woman Killed In Early Morning Hit-And-Run Crash On Almeda Genoa Road

HOUSTON, TX – Houston police are investigating a fatal hit-and-run crash that claimed the life of a woman early Saturday morning in the South Acres/Crestmont Park area.

The crash occurred around 3:45 a.m. on January 17 at the intersection of Cullen Boulevard and Almeda Genoa Road. According to the Houston Police Department Vehicular Crimes Division, a gray Ford F-350 pickup truck was traveling northbound on Cullen when it struck a black Toyota Camry that was traveling westbound on Almeda Genoa.

The force of the collision sent both vehicles onto the grassy median at the intersection. Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced the driver of the Toyota Camry, identified as 47-year-old Patricia Rivera, dead at the scene.

Investigators say the driver of the Ford pickup fled the scene on foot before officers arrived and has not yet been identified.
