HPD Officer Shoots Armed Suspect During Houston Robbery, Suspect Survives

Houston police are investigating an officer-involved shooting that occurred at 203 West Greens Road around 9 a.m. on Monday, December 1, 2025. A 33-year-old male suspect was shot by an HPD officer after allegedly holding a female employee at gunpoint inside a business.
The officer, M. Reyna, assigned to the North Belt Patrol Division since May 2020, was not injured. The suspect was transported to a local hospital and is expected to survive. The female employee was unharmed.
According to HPD Homicide Division Sergeants M. Brady and M. Casso, the suspect forced the clerk into the business, but she was able to activate a silent alarm. Officer Reyna encountered the suspect as he exited, at which point the suspect pointed his firearm at the officer, prompting the officer to discharge his weapon.
Charges against the suspect are pending as investigations continue. HPD’s Homicide Division, Robbery Division, Internal Affairs Division, and the Harris County District Attorney’s Office are all involved in reviewing the incident.
