Suspect Linked to Five Armed Robberies Arrested After Highway Stop in Brazoria County
Arrested: Connor Green

Sweeny, TX – A 21-year-old Palacios man is in custody after investigators say he carried out a string of armed robberies across two counties on Wednesday, ending with his arrest during a traffic stop outside West Columbia.

The Brazoria County Sheriff’s Office says the first call came in around 3 p.m. on November 19, when a masked man armed with a gun robbed a convenience store in the 19300 block of State Highway 35 in Sweeny. Deputies learned the suspect fled with an undisclosed amount of cash in a blue Chevrolet Tahoe.

A short time later, deputies spotted a Tahoe matching the description and conducted a traffic stop. The driver, identified as Connor Green, matched the physical description given by the store clerk. Inside the vehicle, deputies found a firearm along with a large amount of cash believed to be connected to the robbery.

As investigators began piecing the day together, they learned Green is also suspected in four additional armed robberies reported earlier that same day in Matagorda County. Both sheriff’s offices are coordinating as they work through the overlapping cases. According to officials, Green is believed to have acted alone.

Green was booked into the Brazoria County Jail. He faces four counts of aggravated robbery out of Matagorda County, with bonds totaling $200,000. He also faces an aggravated robbery charge out of Brazoria County, with that bond still pending. Authorities say the investigation into the full series of incidents remains active.
