Friendswood Police Arrest Suspect After Road Rage Shooting

Friendswood Police arrested a 21-year-old man following a road rage shooting Thursday evening that left a vehicle struck by gunfire.
At approximately 5:24 p.m. on October 31, officers responded to reports of shots fired in the 100 block of S. Friendswood Drive. The victim told police that the driver of a white Chevrolet Camaro with distinctive markings had fired a gun at their vehicle.
Officers quickly located the suspect vehicle on Centennial Lane. As they attempted to make a traffic stop, officers observed the driver throw an object from the car near the 16500 block of Barcelona Lane.
The suspect, identified as 21-year-old Mike Jordan Cotiy Tum, was detained at the scene. A Friendswood K9 unit searched the area and successfully located a handgun believed to have been discarded during the incident.
A single bullet was later found lodged in the victim’s vehicle. The car was occupied by two adults and an infant, none of whom were injured.
The Galveston County District Attorney’s Office accepted three counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon against Tum and set his bond at $150,000.
