Domestic Disturbance Leads to Shooting in El Paso

On April 2, 2023, a Central Regional Command Center officer responded to a Domestic Family Violence call. When the officer arrived, he learned Chavira shot the victim after an altercation in the residence. The
victim had returned from the hospital with a nonlife-threatening gunshot wound when the police were notified. Crimes against persons detectives assisted in the investigation and learned Chavira threatened the victim into telling the hospital that she had shot herself. At the time of the initial investigation, Chavira
had fled the scene.

On April 20, 2023, officers with the US Marshalls Task Force located and arrested Chavira at 8709 Dyer. Chavira was booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility.
