Woman Killed in Sugar Land Shooting; Suspect Knew Victim, Police Say

Sugar Land police are investigating a deadly shooting that occurred Wednesday afternoon, October 8, 2025, in the 12900 block of Dairy Ashford Road.
Just before 1 p.m., officers responded to reports of a vehicle off the roadway and arrived within minutes to find a woman in the driver’s seat of a white SUV suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Two bystanders assisted as officers performed lifesaving measures until EMS arrived and transported the victim to Ben Taub Hospital, where she was later pronounced deceased.
Investigators quickly issued a BOLO alert for the suspect vehicle, described as a gray SUV, and coordinated with nearby law enforcement agencies.
Detectives have since determined that the suspect and victim knew each other and that the shooting was not a random road-rage incident. The victim’s family has been notified.
The Sugar Land Police Department is also working with the Houston Police Department to determine whether this case is connected to two additional shootings and a suicide that occurred within Houston city limits. For updates related to those incidents, officials advise contacting the HPD.
