HOUSTON—A registered sex offender with a previous conviction for indecency with a child has been arrested after he was found with a missing runaway and methamphetamine during a traffic stop.

On September 13, deputies with Constable Mark Herman’s Office stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation in the 8300 block of N. Sam Houston Parkway W. The driver was identified as Jason Wayne Lee, 51, of Humble. Lee has been a registered sex offender since 2009, following a 1997 conviction for indecency with a child.

During the traffic stop, deputies discovered an underage girl in the vehicle who had been reported as a missing runaway. An investigation revealed that Lee was aware of her runaway status. While being processed into the Harris County Jail, he was also found to be in possession of 2.87 grams of methamphetamine, which was concealed in his sock.

Lee was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail on charges of Possession of a Controlled Substance and Harboring a Runaway Child. His bond was set at $150,100.
