EL PASO, Texas – An El Paso County mother is facing felony charges after deputies discovered three young children left unsupervised in the early morning hours of September 15, 2025.

At approximately 2:23 a.m., deputies from the Peter J. Herrera Patrol Station were dispatched to the 700 block of N. Fabens Road after several good Samaritans found a 4-year-old girl wandering the street with her dog, Rocky. The child, unable to recall her birthday or address, told deputies she could lead them home.

Deputies followed her to a residence in the 100 block of NW CC Camp Street, where they found the home unlocked and unsupervised. Inside, deputies located two additional children, ages 6 and 9, with no adults present and no way to call for help.

Investigators determined the children’s mother, 26-year-old Janely Reyes of Fabens, had left them unattended for an unknown period of time, exposing them to serious danger. Child Protective Services was notified and is working with authorities to ensure the children’s safety.

Reyes was arrested and booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility on three counts of Abandoning or Endangering a Child, with bond set at $30,000.
