Harris County Grand Jury to Review Hoffman Street Fatal Shooting

Houston, TX – The fatal shooting of a 52-year-old man at 6915 Hoffman Street on Monday, September 8, 2025, around 10:25 p.m. will be referred to a Harris County Grand Jury. The identity of the deceased is pending confirmation by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

According to HPD Homicide Division Detectives W. Huff and J. Nguyen, patrol officers responding to a shooting call found the male victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced him deceased at the scene.

Investigators reported that the incident began when the male victim allegedly assaulted a female before engaging in a physical altercation with a second male. During the confrontation, the second male retrieved a firearm and fired, striking the victim. A female witness identified the shooter as a friend.

The 50-year-old male shooter was located by Westside patrol officers and provided a statement to detectives. Following consultation with the Harris County District Attorney’s Office, the case will now be reviewed by a grand jury.
