Suspect Arrested After Fatal Shooting at Pasadena Restaurant

PASADENA, TX – A man has been arrested in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred inside Bubba’s 33 restaurant on Friday, July 11. The incident left one person dead and an employee injured.
Pasadena Police dispatch received numerous calls reporting a shooting at the restaurant, located at 3221 Beltway 8 Hwy, at approximately 8:13 p.m. One victim was shot and later died from their wounds. A second victim, a restaurant employee, sustained a non-life-threatening injury from a stray bullet and was transported to a hospital.
Following the shooting, citizens inside the restaurant attempted to subdue the suspect, but he managed to get into a vehicle and flee the scene. Authorities believe the initial victim and suspect knew each other.
Through their investigation, Pasadena Police identified the suspect as Kenneth Leon Scott, Jr., 48. In the early morning hours of Saturday, July 12, Scott was captured by Schulenburg Police officers in Fayette County.
Scott was transported to the Fayette County Jail, where he is being held for transport to the Harris County Joint Processing Center. He faces charges of Murder and Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon. The suspect has not disclosed a motive at this time.
