Woman Found Dead After House Fire in Northside Houston

Houston police are investigating the death of a 94-year-old woman found at 773 Pickering Street in the Northside area around 4 p.m. on Thursday, June 26th.

Firefighters responding to an unrelated call saw smoke coming from the home. They entered the residence and found the woman in a closet with severe burns. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Her identity is pending notification to family by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

There are no signs of foul play at this time. The cause of death is pending autopsy results.
