Woman Arrested for Fentanyl-Induced Murder in Williamson County

A months-long investigation by the Williamson County Organized Crime Unit has led to the arrest of Crystal Perez, 26, for her alleged role in a fentanyl-induced death.
On October 6, 2024, authorities responded to an overdose death at 307 Morningside Circle in Hutto, where they found 30-year-old Michael Ackerman deceased in his bedroom. Following an extensive investigation, detectives concluded that Perez had sold fentanyl to Ackerman, which ultimately led to his death.
Perez was arrested on June 25, 2025, and remains in custody at the Williamson County Jail under a $1 million bond.
This marks the tenth arrest made by the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office Organized Crime Unit involving a fentanyl-related fatality. The Sheriff’s Office emphasized its ongoing commitment to identifying and prosecuting those distributing deadly narcotics within the county.
