Galveston Man Arrested for Murder, Aggravated Assault in Deadly Shooting

Galveston police on Thursday, June 26th, arrested Johnathan Lemuel Lee, a 25-year-old Galveston man, on charges of murder and aggravated assault in connection with a deadly shooting that occurred early Wednesday morning in the 2400 block of Avenue E.

At approximately 2:50 a.m., officers responded to reports of gunfire and located Armando Ventura, 31, of La Marque, inside a vehicle with multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.

A second victim, a 29-year-old male, was found a short distance away near the intersection of 25th Street and Avenue G, also suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was transported to the hospital with serious injuries but is expected to make a full recovery.

During the investigation, police learned that Lee allegedly acted as the sole shooter during an altercation between the three men. Lee is currently being held in the Galveston County Jail on a $1 million bond: $500,000 for murder and $500,000 for aggravated assault.
