League City Man Arrested in Drug Distribution Investigation Following Anonymous Tip

Detectives with the League City Police Department’s Special Investigations Unit (SIU) arrested 27-year-old Hunter Loyd on multiple drug charges following a narcotics investigation at the Harbor Walk Apartments.

The investigation was launched after SIU received an anonymous tip through Crime Stoppers of Galveston County, alleging cocaine distribution from an apartment at 2751 E FM 518. Detectives gathered evidence and secured a search warrant for the location.

On Thursday, June 26, 2025, at approximately 4:10 p.m., SIU detectives executed the warrant and detained Loyd without incident. A search of the apartment resulted in the seizure of large quantities of narcotics, including cocaine, fentanyl, psilocybin mushrooms, THC cartridges, and marijuana. Authorities also recovered multiple firearms and a substantial amount of cash.

Loyd has been charged with the following:

  • Manufacture/Delivery of a Controlled Substance PG 1 >= 4g < 200g – $100,000 bond
  • Manufacture/Delivery of a Controlled Substance PG 2 >= 400g – $100,000 bond
  • Possession of a Controlled Substance PG 1 < 1g – $75,000 bond

He was transported to the League City Jail. The investigation is ongoing, and additional charges may be filed.
