Arrest Made in Fatal May 6 Hit-and-Run Motorcycle Crash in Austin

Austin Police Department (APD) Vehicular Homicide Unit detectives have announced an arrest in connection with a fatal hit-and-run collision that occurred on May 6, 2025, claiming the life of motorcyclist Shawn Oveisi, 47.

Agustin Guillen, 38, was arrested on June 11, 2025, and charged with Collision Involving Death, a second-degree felony.

The incident took place at approximately 11:38 p.m. on Tuesday, May 6, when APD officers responded to the 2900 block of North Mopac Expressway NB for a collision between a motor vehicle and a motorcycle. Upon arrival, officers found that the driver of the vehicle had fled the scene. The motorcycle rider, Shawn Oveisi, was seriously injured and transported to a local hospital, where he tragically succumbed to his injuries on Monday, May 19.
