Suspect Arrested After Aggravated Robbery and Carjacking in Houston

Harris County Sheriff’s Office units arrested a suspect on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, following an aggravated robbery at a Verizon Total Wireless store on 500 Normandy Street that escalated into a carjacking.
Deputies were dispatched to the scene after reports that a suspect had robbed the store and then carjacked an employee’s vehicle. Patrol units quickly located the stolen vehicle and, after a brief pursuit, took the suspect into custody.
The suspect, identified as 27-year-old Tyree Harper was found with multiple cellphones and cash taken from the store, as well as a pistol used during the robbery. Detectives with the Sheriff’s Office interviewed Harper, who reportedly confessed to the robbery and detailed his planning of the crime.
Tyree Harper has been charged with Aggravated Robbery and was booked into the Harris County Jail.
